FIFA Points

FIFA Points would be the FIFA money used on the FUT 18 Store exclusively to purchase packs and FUT Draft entries.

It’s considered a virtual currency since it fulfills the demands of the European Central Bank definition (kind of unregulated, electronic currency, which can be issued and usually controlled by its developers, and accepted and used one of the members of a specific virtual community) and of the US Treasury definition (medium of exchange that functions like a currency in some environments, but doesn’t have all the attributes of real currency). In the case of FIFA 18, players utilize real money to get FIFA Points and with them they buy in-game things (packs).

One year later, EA Sports added this currency to the other platforms — Playstation, XBox, iOS and Android — causing all of the platforms utilize the same payment system. Before FIFA Points existed gamers purchased packs spending with Microsoft Points or with Playstation Network credits.

A huge portion of EA gain is made thanks to FIFA Points sales.

You can check how many FIFA Points you have, looking to the top right hand corner of any Ultimate Team menu in your console or Web App. Should you never have bought FIFA Points, then you will see that a ‘0’ on the left side of a green icon.
